The 50 events that marked the history of LGBT people in Colombia

#50YearsOfPride

On 28 June 1969 was a day that changed history for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people around the world. The constant repressions and abuses committed by the New York police against them would cause one of the most significant social mobilisations in the world: the "New York City Police Force".he Stonewall Inn riot,  struggle that would become the representation of LGBT people's non-conformity in the face of the discrimination and violence they experienced because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

50 years later, in 2019, we commemorate this date as a symbol of the resistance and resilience of people with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. It is for this reason that from Colombia Diversa we want to pay tribute and remember those 50 events that marked the struggle for equality. Since the Stonewall riot from the elimination of homosexuality as a crime to the approval of equal marriage.
