Description. Colombia Diversa's Human Rights Division is in charge of collecting, systematising and analysing information on the human rights situation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people at the national level. With this information, reports and studies are prepared, and advocacy strategies are designed and implemented before State institutions and international human rights bodies in terms of protection, prevention and access to justice, and organisational strengthening for both human rights organisations and other LGBT organisations. The selected person will work in the Area's team supporting these tasks.<\/p>\n
Duties of the position:
\na) Research and documentation of human rights violations against LGBT people in Colombia.
\nb) Systematisation of registered cases of human rights violations against LGBT persons in Colombia Diversa's databases.
\nc) Administration of Colombia Diversa's database of human rights violations against LGBT persons.
\n(d) Monitoring of recorded cases of human rights violations and the actions of the authorities in Colombia.
\ne) Design and development of quantitative methodologies for studies of the Human Rights Division.
\nf) Drafting of the report on LGBT human rights in Colombia.
\n(g) Preparation of other national reports and documents on the human rights situation of the LGBT population addressed to other organisations, official institutions, multilateral agencies or the media.
\n(h) To devise and implement strategies for the dissemination of human rights reports in Colombia.
\ni) To devise and implement advocacy strategies before state institutions and international organisations for the recognition and guarantee of the rights of the LGBT population in Colombia.
\nj) Other functions assigned by the Directorate of Colombia Diversa in the development of the functions of the position.<\/p>\n
Type of contract. Fixed-term employment contract.<\/p>\n
Value. Monthly salary of approximately $ 3,760,000 + benefits, but may depend on the institutional salary scale.<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/p>\n
a) Studies.
\n\u25cf Professional in Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Law or related fields
\n\u25cf Postgraduate degree related to the area of work.
\n\u25cf At least three (3) years of research experience in quantitative methodologies, mixed methodologies, database management, specialized software (Stata, R, among others). Knowledge of gender and international law is a plus.
\nb) Language: Knowledge of English would be an asset.
