{"id":3875,"date":"2019-08-13T20:48:18","date_gmt":"2019-08-13T20:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/colombiadiversa.org\/?p=3875"},"modified":"2025-08-13T20:48:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T20:48:25","slug":"womens-and-lgbt-organisations-unite-to-make-the-voices-of-victims-of-sexual-violence-in-armed-conflict-heard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/colombiadiversa.org\/en\/womens-and-lgbt-organisations-unite-to-make-the-voices-of-victims-of-sexual-violence-in-armed-conflict-heard\/","title":{"rendered":"Women's and LGBT organisations unite to make the voices of Victims of Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict heard"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>#27MilVoces<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Today,\u00a0<strong>25 May<\/strong>in commemoration of the\u00a0<strong>National Day for the Dignity of Victims of Sexual Violence in the Armed Conflict<\/strong>We want to make a special call for us as a society to recognise that the focus of the discussion and everyone's attention must be on the victims.<\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<strong>Unit for the Integral Attention and Reparation of Victims<\/strong>armed conflict has left more than\u00a0<strong>27,000 women and LGBT people victims of sexual violence<\/strong>who were violated by\u00a0<strong>ALL<\/strong>\u00a0the actors of the armed conflict, legal and illegal.<\/p>\n<p>However, as recognised by the Constitutional Court in order 009 of 2015, there is a percentage of impunity of around 98% in cases that reach the ordinary justice system to be investigated and tried. These alarming figures have led the victims of sexual violence to turn their hopes for justice to other scenarios such as the\u00a0<strong>JEP<\/strong>The Committee is currently analysing a number of reports submitted by civil society organisations.\u00a0<strong>women and LGBTI people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The SJP has the opportunity to judge and punish these conducts because the Final Peace Agreement establishes that sexual violence is a crime that cannot be condoned or pardoned and therefore the State has the obligation to judge those responsible.<\/p>\n<p>We call on all of society to listen to the voices of the victims, to support and accompany their demands for justice. It is time to acknowledge what happened to us as a society and ensure that this never happens again.<\/p>\n<p><em>\"We do not represent pain and tragedy but the dignity, courage and work of millions of women, we were victims the day we were abused and mistreated.
