An example is when a person with a child from a previous relationship forms a family with another person who establishes a parental relationship with his or her child. In this case, if this new person wants to establish a legal bond with his or her partner's child, he or she must go through an adoption procedure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Civil registration of children:<\/strong> is the name given to the registration of the birth of a child by both parents. It applies when the birth of the child is the result of a joint decision of the same-sex couple to undergo assisted reproductive treatment.
