Our Mission Statement

Colombia Diversa seeks to ensure inclusion, recognition and respect for the human rights of the LGBTIQ+ population in Colombia. human rights of the LGBTIQ+ population in Colombia.

Since 2004 we have been fighting for the rights of those who have been discriminated against for loving, being or appearing "different". In order to live in an equal society for all, we carry out strategic litigation, advocacy and research on the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Colombia.

We promote the change

Our Board of Directors is made up of leaders with backgrounds in human rights, economics, communications and politics. Each member brings their experience to guide our actions.

Marcela Sánchez

Marcela Sánchez is a social worker with a degree from the National University of Colombia and a master's degree in Peacebuilding from the University of the Andes. A feminist and human rights defender, she has dedicated her career to promoting social justice and equality. She serves as the director of Colombia Diversa, one of the most influential organisations in the defence of LGBTIQ+ rights in Colombia. Under her leadership, the organisation has strengthened its role as a national and international reference in the fight against discrimination through advocacy, research and strategic litigation.
