Position: Transitional Justice Lawyer

Date: 08 June to 15 June.

1. Position. Transitional justice lawyer

2. Description. The person who performs the functions of this position will be part of the team of the Peace and Transitional Justice Area of Colombia Diversa and will be in charge of accompanying and representing cases of gender-based violence in the framework of the armed conflict before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.

3. Functions. The main functions include the following:
a. Accompany and represent cases of gender-based violence of victims accredited before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
b. Support the construction and execution of litigation strategies for the incorporation of the gender approach before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
c. Participate in the meetings established by the team of the Peace and Transitional Justice Area, with the different bodies of the SJP and with allied civil society organisations.
d. Provide consultations and legal advice to the victims of gender-based violence represented.
e. Drafting of legal documents for litigation and in the context of victim counselling.
f. Prepare contract performance reports, submit accounts receivable and social security statements for the collection of fees.
g. Complete the documentation requested by donors in support of the contract.
h. Any other tasks designated by the Peace and Transitional Justice Area or the Directorate of Colombia Diversa associated with the object of the present contract.

4. Type of contract. Contract for the Provision of Services, which is governed by the Legislation, rates and taxes of the Republic of Colombia. The contract will be signed for a period of five (5) months. The possibilities of renewal or the existence of the possibility of establishing another type of link with the organisation will depend on the performance and availability of resources.

5. Value. The Contract will have a value of 4'200.000 COP per month.

6. Dedication. A dedication of approximately 35 hours per week (full-time) is expected.

7. Qualifications. To be eligible for the position, the person must meet and prove the following requirements:
a. Undergraduate degree in law with a valid professional card.
b. At least one year's experience in representing and/or accompanying victims of GBV.
c. The person is expected to have knowledge of gender and transitional justice.
d. Postgraduate studies in gender or transitional justice would be an asset.
e. Preference will be given to LGBTQ persons applying for the position.

8. Selection Process.

El Comité evaluador estudiará las aplicaciones y seleccionará dos o tres hojas de vida para entrevista. Se tendrá en cuenta criterios de experiencia, formación académica y experiencia previa con temas de DDHH y género. Posteriormente, el Comité escogerá a una persona y la decisión será informada a todas las personas participantes. Finalmente, el Área Administrativa de Colombia Diversa le contactará para solicitar los documentos adicionales, hacer la oferta y preparar el contrato.
