Peace and transitional justice

The Peace and Transitional Justice area works to ensure that the voices of LGBTIQ+ victims of the armed conflict are heard. It promotes their participation in the construction of an inclusive peace by strengthening their organisational processes, documenting the effects they experienced during the armed conflict and developing advocacy and litigation strategies before transitional justice mechanisms.

Pillars of action

01

A Journey of Peace

A Journey of Peace is the first multimedia repository of memories of LGBTQ+ victims and survivors of the Colombian armed conflict. This website is one of the results of several years of work by Colombia Diversa towards the construction of a peaceful country.

Launch Equally Justas

We presented Equally Just, a project with SISMA Mujer and Christian Aid, with the support of the European Union, which will allow LGBTIQ+ people and women in 8 departments of the country to access transitional justice. The event was an opportunity for victims, organisations, diplomats and the state to come together to learn about and build the bridges necessary to ensure a peace with all colours. This project will implement an intersectional feminist litigation model that will seek to reach more than 2'000,000 people and benefit at least 220 victims with legal accompaniment that will also strengthen local community processes.

National Plan Meeting. LBT Women

Equally fair is an initiative that brings together advocates, activists and organisations to make visible the experiences of LGBTIQ+ people in contexts of armed conflict. This launch marks the beginning of a collective process of memory, justice and reparation with a focus on gender and diversity.

Presentation of the Restorative Project - Rainbow School House

In a private and deeply moving event, we delivered to the Special Justice for Peace (JEP) the proposal co-constructed with LGBTIQ+ victims of our restorative project for Tumaco, Nariño. This project will allow LGBTIQ+ victims of the armed conflict to have a safe space to train, explore their creativity and take care of themselves.

The event was attended by Magistrate Belkis Izquierdo, who received the proposal from the victims in the hope that it would be implemented.
