Call for communications activities at Colombia Diversa

Description: The person executing these activities will have to lead, design and execute communications activities around specific events and products carried out by the peace and post-conflict area of Colombia Diversa.

Activities:

  1. Design and implement a communications strategy for the launch on social networks of "Celeste", Colombia Diversa's website that aims to build memory from the documentation of murders of LGBT people in Colombia.
  2. Support the redesign process of the website "Un Viaje de Paz", Colombia Diversa's website documenting stories of LGBT victims of the armed conflict. This includes: following up on the timeline stipulated with the consultant team, sending the final stories to be uploaded to the website and writing the missing stories if required.
  3. Design and implement a communications strategy for the launch of "A Journey of Peace". This includes coordinating all logistical issues related to the face-to-face launch event.
  4. Make visible on social media the face-to-face or virtual events in which the peace and post-conflict area will participate during the months of the contract. This should include a Twitter follow up of the interventions and an Instagram post on the theme of the event before or after the event takes place.
  5. Conduct monthly four contents for social media in relation to the work being done by the peace and post-conflict area, previously published research or key messages that are agreed between areas.
  6. Follow trends and conversations on social media that relate to peace issues.
  7. Design and implement a communication strategy to disseminate the information published in the gender chapter of the Truth Commission's final report.
  8. Support the advocacy agenda on the final report of the Truth Commission prepared by the peace and post-conflict area.
  9. Media relations to position specific activities or messages.
  10. Accompany the trips made by the peace area that need to be documented and recorded audio-visually.
  11. Provide monthly reports on contract activities.

Type of recruitment: Contract for the provision of services for seven months. The contract will be signed immediately upon completion of the selection process.

Value: It will have a monthly value of approximately $3,500,000.

Requirements: Undergraduate degree in social communication, journalism, political science, digital storytelling or related fields.

Postgraduate studies: Specialisation and/or master's degrees in journalism, human rights or gender will be an asset.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience working in the media, advertising agencies or social organisations is required. Knowledge and technical skills in the use of cameras is also required.

Expertise: Knowledge of peacebuilding and the Final Peace Agreement is required.

Work site: Teleworking. For certain activities, such as events, launches or travel, availability to be in Bogotá and availability to travel to Caquetá, Tolima or Nariño will be required.

Contents of the Application. They must contain (1) the name and pronoun by which the applicant wishes to be identified; (2) a current resume of the person; and (3) a 250-word presentation of why he/she meets the requirements for the position (you can include it directly in the mail or in an attached Word document).

Evaluation Mechanism. Applicants will be evaluated on their resume, as well as called for interviews. Whoever obtains the best score in the latter will be selected for the position. Additional written material or evidence may be requested if the Evaluation Committee deems it appropriate.
