Service to be contracted: Consultancy to develop a comparative study on the situation of access to comprehensive health care for transgender people in LAC.
Description. Colombia Diversa requires the hiring of a person or organisation to carry out a comparative study of the barriers faced by transgender people in accessing gender-affirming procedures in the health system in LAC.
Activities. Under the supervision of the litigation and advocacy coordination, the person recruited will carry out the following actions.
- Establish how the right to health is understood in access to gender-affirming procedures for transgender people in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Mexico, El Salvador, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.
- Determine the barriers (economic, social, structural, etc.) that transgender people face in accessing gender-affirming treatment in the health system, as well as their consequences or impacts on transgender people.
- Compare barriers and good practices in the selected countries of the region.
- Propose what measures could be taken to facilitate access to gender-affirming treatment for transgender people.
Type of contract and term: service contract governed by Colombian law, starting on or about 26 August 2024.
Value. The Contract will have a value of approximately $(5,500USD), the form of payment of which will be subject to negotiation at the time of contract.
Execution time: The execution time will be approximately 3 months.
Requirements. To be eligible for this consultancy you must:
- Present a work proposal containing at least the research methodology, theoretical framework, chronogram, proposed structure of the final document, in which the activities described above are included.
- Summary of the profile and verifiable experience that the organisation/person has in conducting studies such as the one presented.
Applications from LGBTIQ+ people from an intersectional perspective will be positively considered.[1].

Receipt of Applications. From 30 July to 07 August 2024.
Evaluation. The Evaluation Committee will pre-qualify the job proposals and evaluate the proposals, profiles and experiences of individuals or organisations, selecting the best ones for an interview.
Deliberation and Selection. The Committee will make a decision on the basis of the information submitted and may request meetings to further investigate the proposal submitted.
Acceptance. If selected, the Administrative Area of Colombia Diversa will contact you to request additional documents and prepare the contract.
Disqualifications for hiring. Natural persons whose family circle includes an employee or contractor up to the second degree of consanguinity, affinity or civil relationship, who is currently linked to the organisation, will be ineligible to contract goods and services with Colombia Diversa. In the case of legal persons, the same restriction will apply in relation to their board of directors or management.
When the inability arises within the selection process, it shall be understood that the tenderer waives its participation in the process and the rights arising therefrom.
