Position: professional expert on disappearance
Description: The person who serves as a professional expert on disappearances will be dedicated to research and training on issues of humanitarian search with an LGBT and feminist approach. The person in this position will coordinate Colombia Diversa's work with the UBPD and its LGBTI Experts Group. The person chosen will join Colombia Diversa's Peace and Transitional Justice team, which prides itself on its caring, feminist and supportive working style.
Type of contract: service contract. The contract will be signed immediately upon completion of the selection process for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension as the position is intended to be permanent in the organisation.
Remuneration: the value will be assigned according to work experience and studies in accordance with the salary scale of the organisation. The remuneration range will be between 2'500.000 COP and 3'500.000 COP per month.
Dedication: full time (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday).
Functions:
1. Coordinate the work of Colombia Diversa in the LGBTI Expert Group of the UBPD.
2. Conduct training for UBPD officials on the LGBT approach to humanitarian search.
3. Prepare methodological and documentation documents for LGBT-sensitive humanitarian research.
4. Participate in research, advocacy and administrative tasks in the area of Peace and Transitional Justice.
Requirements:
1. Undergraduate degree in the humanities or social sciences. Any other education on gender, sexuality, human rights, armed conflict or the search for missing persons would be an asset.
2. Experience: a maximum of 3 years' experience in human rights and armed conflict issues is expected. We encourage recent graduates (and therefore without formal work experience) to apply for this call if they have
had an interest or involvement from civil society in issues related to gender, sexuality, armed conflict or humanitarian search.
3. Language: a level of B2 in English or in languages other than Spanish is required.
4. Due to the nature of the work, the professional expert in disappearance must reside in Bogotá, Colombia, to carry out activities in person, although some activities may be carried out virtually.
