Call for applications for the role of Human Rights Research Assistant at Colombia Diversa

Date: from 12 September to 22 September 2024.

Description: For two decades, Colombia Diversa has been working to defend the rights of the LGBTIQ+ population. Through litigation, advocacy and educommunication strategies, the organisation is committed to positioning the conversation on human rights and the life experiences of the LGBTIQ+ population in different scenarios and audiences.

Therefore, we are looking for a dynamic person who can develop and execute the role of research assistant in Human Rights, media analysis to identify patterns of violence against LGBTI people.

Role tasks:

  • Carry out the analysis and monitoring of Colombia Diversa's media for the Human Rights Report, with the aim of establishing and identifying cases of violence and registering them in the database, under the technical guidelines set by the Human Rights Researcher.
  • Contribute to the elaboration of reports and bulletins on HRDs carried out by the Advocacy Area.
    Participate in responding to internal as well as external requests from the State, civil society and/or special mechanisms of the United Nations and treaty bodies, together with entities of the Inter-American Human Rights System.
  • Any other tasks designated by the Advocacy Area and the Colombia Diversa Directorate associated with the purpose of this contract.

Type of contract: contract for the provision of professional services.

Value: monthly fees for a maximum value of 2.000.000 to 2.500.000.000. This value may change depending on the resume. The contract period will be for 6 months.

Requirements:

  • You are expected to have a professional, technical or technological degree in the areas of human sciences and/or social sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Social Communication, etc.).
  • Experience in media trawling, triangulation of information and cross-checking of sources.
  • Have knowledge and experience in research and writing on human rights and violence against LGBTIQ+ people.

Place of residence: Bogotá.

Inabilities for contracting. In the case of legal persons, the same restriction will apply in relation to their board of directors or management.

When the inability arises within the selection process, it shall be understood that the tenderer waives its participation in the process and the rights arising therefrom.
