Position. Lawyer in the Peace and Transitional Justice Area
Description. The person who performs the functions of this position will work under the Coordination of the Peace and Transitional Justice Area of Colombia Diversa or whoever is designated by the latter as supervisor of the contract and will be primarily responsible for accompanying and representing cases of gender-based violence in the context of the armed conflict before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
Functions. The main functions include the following:
- Accompany and represent victims of gender-based violence before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in cases of gender-based violence.
- Support the construction and execution of litigation strategies for the incorporation of the gender approach before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
- Participate in the meetings established by the Peace and Transitional Justice Area team with the different bodies of the SJP, relevant authorities and allied civil society organisations.
- Provide consultations and legal advice to the victims of gender-based violence represented.
- Drafting of legal documents for litigation and in the context of victim counselling.
- Represent the organisation in the framework of events, roundtables and different alliance work scenarios.
- Prepare contract performance reports, submit accounts receivable and social security slips for the collection of fees.
- Support follow-up, monitoring and reporting on Peace and Transitional Justice projects.
- Complete the documentation requested by donors in support of the contract.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Coordination of the Peace and Transitional Justice Area or the Directorate of Colombia Diversa associated with the object of the present contract.
Type of Recruitment. Contract for the Provision of Services.
Value. The Contract will have a value of $6.000.000.000 per month.
Dedication. Approximately 40 hours per week are expected.
Requirements.
- Undergraduate degree in law with a valid professional card.
- At least one year's experience in representing and/or accompanying victims of gender-based violence, or two years' experience working in scenarios related to the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
- The person is expected to have specific knowledge of the functioning of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
- Postgraduate studies related to gender, international criminal law or transitional justice would be an asset.
Place of residence: Bogotá.
