This is a regional initiative that will focus on the promotion of criminal prosecutions for homicides against LGBTI people and will include cases, standards and strategies that can be useful to anyone litigating in this context in Latin America and the Caribbean, so it will be useful regardless of the regulatory framework of each country.

The course, for which registration will be open until 25 January 2020100% is free and virtual, will be conducted in Spanish and will be certified by FLACSO.
Once the registration period has closed, an evaluation committee will review the profiles of all those who have registered and will select the best candidates for the course. The decision will be communicated no later than 3 February 2020.
The Litigation Strengthening Initiative is part of the Regional Information Network on Violence against LGBTI Persons in Latin America and the Caribbean (SInViolence LGBTI) and was designed by FLACSO Argentina with content developed by Race&Equality.
It should be noted that although the course is open to the public, the participation of people working in the countries that are part of the Network will be encouraged: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic. Also, although it is aimed primarily at lawyers, people and/or activists who are directly involved in the litigation of LGBTI cases are welcome to apply.
