If my partner lives abroad, how can we liquidate the marital or property partnership?

Regardless of the nature of the liquidation (mutual agreement or litigious), it is possible for the person living abroad to send an authenticated power of attorney to a Colombian consulate in the country where he or she is located so that a lawyer can represent him or her in the process. If the person does not wish to send the power of attorney or is not interested in carrying out the liquidation of the marital or patrimonial property, the judicial process can be initiated to notify him/her during the process or continue the process in his/her absence by requesting the court to appoint a lawyer to represent him/her (the fees of this professional are set by the judge and must be paid by the person who initiated the process).
