Why might the marriage application be rejected?

There can be several reasons for refusing an application, including incomplete documents, lack of apostille in the case of documents from abroad, birth certificates older than 3 months[10], the existence of a previous marriage, etc. What cannot be a reason to reject the marriage application is that it is a same-sex couple or a couple consisting of one or two trans persons.
